Kroenke is such a bad owner that we in St. Louis are actually happy that he moved the Rams to LA! It helped that the Rams suck and have sucked for like 13 years, but having them move was better than keeping them with him as the owner. I feel bad for Avs fans.

Kroenkes stink as owners but this is still the right call.

It was a very interesting interview he had....you really get the impression that the Roy Sakic mgmt group wasnt working when Roy decided he wanted to win now instead of staying the course.

Joe needs to be better but his moves post Roy era are actually encouraging. He gets his shot to right this ship bc I think the compromising to build in Roys influeced original vision clearly wasnt the answer

There isn't a good replacement for Sakic, anyways. Might as well save money and see what the legend can do.

There are still a good majority of Avs fans who are calling for his head and thats my logic too. Firing for the sake of firing doesnt make anything better. Its just more the same, doing things without a long term vision and plan.

If they were able to get Fenton out of Nashville...then yes that is a move that screams a new long term vision and building process.

FIring Sakic just to hire another GM who probably just was fired like GMTM would just be more the same crap. Im fine with sakic in the interm if they do 2 things.

So what should the Avs do? Hope Sakic decides he wants to act more like a scout and assistant GM and pull in another guy who'll execute trades, fill out the team, and GM with a proper vision of what he wants the team to be?

Was it a tug of war after they lost that series to the Wild? Did Roy want to build bigger but Sakic want to build faster?

I was always confused as to what Colorado's dynamic was supposed to be since that explosive year where they were just using speed to beat everyone.

Basically yes. After Roy got a taste of winning, the whole talk of building the organization from the AHL out like Tampa went out the window and they started to add Vets (Briere, Stuart, Iggy, Beauchemin, etc etc). I think both him and sakic felt they could win now so they went after guys Roy knows he could use.

That 2013 season was a curse. But after Sakic finally hired an assistant GM in McFarland 2 years ago and started to take over more of the GM duties from Roy...things started to change. He was a huge influence in the Blue Jackets building up their AHL system. I can see him being promoted to GM eventually. But yah I would love to see him being in another Hockey Ops guy to work with sakic

Why even engage in a conversation with you, you just will be a big wet blanket and refuse to see any value, as small as they may be.

So you can go back to hating on everyone and try to troll people with your terrible takes of trade MacKinnon crap again.

i asked a question, you said in the last 2 years ... I don't see any good moves in the last 2 years.

Also I fail to see how hiring guys who were part of the really bad Blue Jacket teams will make colorado a better team...

you are combining points to fit your narrative....I said Post Roy era, but you are jumping on saying 2 years of Mcfarland...I didn't say Joe has done encouraging moves in the last 2 years, I said in the Post Roy Era

You should actually read all the posts but you can't help yourself to try to jump on the negativity trade.

The fact you can't see how Columbus...a now excellent team, who drafted, developed 75% of their team in a system that McFarland set up, can be a sign of things to come of what they are doing now. Again this is just being narrow minded in an effort to be negative and angry about everything.

Are things great...no, but there are hints of things to come that are still encouraging. So drop the act man its unwelcome here.

I used 2 years because you said starting 2 years ago...
I would say Columbus is more successful based on the trades they have made to build their team. All the key players where acquired by trade.

Atkinson, Jenner, Wennberg, Murray, Bjorkstrand, Savard, Werenski are all part of their future when McFarland was there.

Seth Jones...traded for drafted and developed Johansson. Saad is the exception but they took advantage of enough young assets and prayed on Chicagos cap relief.

I said things started to change when McFarland was brought in 2 years. You are just making assumptions that means I said stellar changes were happening. However you are blind with being a negative wet blanked that you can't even see that for probably the 1st time in the Avs franchise history they will have a full AHL D core and Goalie platoon full of their own draft picks. I guess you don't care to remember that when the Everbergs, Hishons, etc all left for Europe they mentioned that the AHL system during Roys time wasn't interested in developing talent since they weren't going to get a shot at the NHL. Like I said, you started to see things change when McFarland was brought in and started to have more influence in things...slowly, but they are changing.

They have improved drafting, getting guys to sign, etc etc. But hey that doesnt fit into your narrative so keep on being negative for no reason

The drafting started to improve when sakic and roy took over, it hasn't changed one bit since McFarland came over. The fact that the farm team has more drafted players in the ahl has to do with drafting over a long period and not short term.

Interesting you say that....He was brought in May 2015. Look at that 2015 draft.
Rants, AJ Greer, Meloche, Beaudin, Mironov, Boikov. Picks 1-6 all signed.

2013 and 2014 Drafts
Mackinnon, Martin, Bigras, Lindholm, Geertsen, Nantel are the signed guys from 2 drafts.

I would say hes doing a good job working as Sakics right hand hand in terms of identifying and able to sign guys. Yes the drafting has been better but that has been Sakics focus from the beginning. However its looking even better now, I wonder why that may be? But hey you are trying to be negetive and poop on everything but thats all you know how to do instead of seeing maybe there is some good here. What else you got to try to complain and poop on?

Drafting by the avs has improved drastically. Will still take a few more drafts to really see the pipe line stocked but we are seeing the beginning of it. Most if not all of the rampages dman will be prospects next year

Lindholm-boikov
Brigras-Siemens(if extemded)/mironov(because he might need a few months to adjust)
Meloche-geertsen
Butcher/Heiskanen (if signed and drafted)

That's good problems to have. And the Fwd group is starting to come along too with

Greer-jost-*ranford ( I won't be shocked if theyou both start here)
*girard-beaudin-*petryk
*Vogelhuber-nantel-*bourke
